Just a short distance from Huger, in the Rivertowne Shopping Plaza, is the Rivertowne Public House with an array of menu options. It is a favored place to watch the game while enjoying seared salmon or fish and chips. In nearby Mount Pleasant is the Wando River Grill where you can enjoy waterfront dining with blackened chicken alfredo or tuna poke.
The Lowco Cafe in Wando is a favored spot for working remotely with a good cup of coffee. They also have meeting rooms available and a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items along with baked goods. Famulari’s Pizzeria is the local pizza parlor that delivers crispy New York-style pizza and thick-crusted Chicago-style pizza.
In Mount Pleasant, just a short drive from Huger, is the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, a large shopping mall in the area. They have a nice variety of shops including furniture and home decor. The Wine Cellar Wine and Gifts shop has one of the best wine clubs in the area. Sweet Julep’s makes all their chocolates and confections fresh every day. Boutique shopping is also available, such as Southern Cuties Boutique in Summerville, along with many other locally-owned businesses with unique products.
Things to Do
The Huger Recreation Area along Huger Creek and Route 402 is a beautiful green space with plenty of picnic shelters and facilities for picnics and group gatherings. They also have a boat ramp where river and stream fishing are popular. The Francis Marion National Forest is in a gorgeous coastal forest region. The piedmont pine forest covers the Appalachian Mountains and the Intracoastal Waterway. There are opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, biking, four-wheeling, areas for dirt bikes, and fishing.
The Indigo Equestrian Center in Huger is an elite horse boarding facility on a 25-acre site. Their boarding stalls have tack closets, heat lamps, ceiling fans, pastures for riding, and stadium arenas for jumping and dressage.
The Charleston Zipline Adventure is a short, and well-worth-it, drive from Huger. The Zipline Adventure covers 10-acres and seven zip lines reaching 65-feet in the air. They also have a climbing wall and a Kids Zip Koala Course.
